Jack McCoy is the world renowned award winning cinematographer with over 35 years of experience in Directing, Writing, Producing, Photography, and Cinematography.

Credits with Feature Films, TV Commercials, and Documentaries. He has produced 25 short and feature films on surfing. His latest feature A Deeper Shade Of Blue is currently screening world wide to rave reviews.

• Pepsi Soccer. Director Tarsem (legendary Film Maker, Music Video Director "Sweet Lullaby" Deep Forest, "Loosing My Religion" REM and TVC Director including the award winning "We Will Rock You" Brittney, Pink and Beyonce). Tarsem's desire to work with McCoy on the Pepsi Soccer commerical, moved the commericals production schedule with the best soccer players in the world to accommodate McCoys touring of his film Blue Horizon. He was not disappointed as McCoy and his team put together the extras to double for the players, but nailed "the Money Shot" on day one of the 5 day shoot.

• Telstra "Babies" Director Bruce Hunt (2nd Unit Director "The Matrix) Besides using Jacks extensive stock footage library, Bruce need a shot of a surfboard riding a wave with one one on it so that the CGI work could include the Babies. McCoy quickly found out the that way you get a board to ride a wave is is with someone riding it. After two weeks of R & D, he hit the jackpot with weighing the board with plumbers led taped to the bottom in the shap of a center fin. 3 shots that did the trick.

• Becks Beer Director Paul Street. While the A unit was in Sydney shooting the ship and the beach scenes, the director sent McCoy and his assistant to Fiji to shoot the surfing. The production saved ten's of thousands of dollars by McCoy doing 90% of the entire commerical with such a small crew.

• Hankook Tires  Director Jeff Darling When Director Jeff Darling wanted some extreme surfing footage he contacted Jack who provided him with the highest quality extreme surfing footage on the market today and produced this winning commercial for the Asain Tire Client.

Jack McCoy Personal Camera Gear

Technology is moving fast and furious these days and McCoy is proficient with all kinds of gear including RED, ELextra, and Phantom. However put any sort of rig in his hands and he'll come back with not just shots, but "classic keepers" over and over again due to his highly respected technical images of the highest quality, with an artistic eye.



McCoy is an Ambassador for the PANASONIC Professional Division in Australia and uses and recommends PANASONIC P2 Techonology.




McCoy also has his 3 x of his own super 16mm high speed Milikin camera kits with 3.5mm, 10mm, 25mm, 35mm and 75mm lenses in water housings.



Panasonic P2 172 in a water housing is his rig of choice for HD shooting as it cuts perfectly with any other HD format with its highest quality and "look" that McCoy dials into his camera.
